MoJo Sports entered into the Fair industry in August 2004 because Joe Lewis was reading an article in Sports Business Journal about Television and Major League Baseball. The article discussed how in 1939 television approached Major League Baseball with the idea of airing a baseball game on television. In 1939, Major League Baseball said that they would "NEVER" put the game of baseball on television. "Television is something that belongs at the World's Fair to entertain people" a spokesperson for Major League Baseball said. Joe Lewis thought that if the Fair was how Television got started, then why not take the Mojo Pitching Cage and test the market. Joe decided to set up the Mojo Pitching Cage at the local fair in Lancaster, CA and the response was amazing! That year, the Mojo Pitching Cage attended the Antelope Valley Fair, LA County Fair, Kern County Fair and The Big Fresno Fair. The next year Mojo Sports released the Mojo Passing Challenge and the Mojo Penalty Kick. In 2008, the Mojo Block-A-Shot was added. The photo above was taken at the Arizona State Fair and shows all four sports next to each other. MoJo Sport now attends over 40 fairs a year and is adding more each year.
